I went to Komodo in April, but completely neglect to blog about it. Here’s a consolation prize:
Green pit viper, Rinca Island
This little critter was hanging out in a tree on Rinca Island, one of the islands where Komodo dragons live. It sat directly above the best spot for taking a photo of a dragon that was lying nearby.
Went diving on Sunday January 19th with some mates at the Kwinana Grain Terminal in the southern suburbs of Perth.
The weather was damn near perfect, although the visibility could have been a little better.
Saw no less than four octopus and a few different species of nudis. The better photos are available here for your viewing pleasure.
Dofleinia armata (Wassilieff, 1908)
This wasp is one of several that live around my house. Sources say that they are essentially harmless and will only bite if provoked. Otherwise, they’re just trying to get through their day, like the rest of us.
